Part Time Position – Saturday & Sundays

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at Double Tree Lisle in Lisle IL. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for guests and staff.

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at Double Tree Lisle in Lisle IL. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any deficiencies or concerns to the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting:
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems, including HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, and water leaks.
  • Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies related to maintenance activities.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste disposal.
  • Participate in regular safety training sessions and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and reorder items as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory audits and asset tracking as directed by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Team

    Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including Housekeeping and Front Office, to address maintenance issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and share relevant information.
  • Provide assistance and support to other members of the Engineering team as needed.
Requirements Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
