The Newcastle Search Group, LLC has been retained by a publicly traded, industry-leading global manufacturer headquartered in the western suburbs of Chicago to identify and hire a Global Director of Operations Finance & North American Controller
. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates not local to the greater Chicago area.
This highly visible leadership role will own financial reporting, planning, and analysis across worldwide manufacturing operations — driving profitability, operational excellence, and best practices.
This is a fully onsite leadership role based in Lisle, IL. Hybrid or remote candidates will not be considered. A relocation package is available for qualified out-of-state candidates.
Key Responsibilities Operational & Performance Management- Partner with Operations leadership and Plant Controllers to drive profitability and plant performance
- Lead standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and product profitability modeling
- Support S&OP and drive data-driven operational decision making
- Monitor working capital, inventory performance, and cost drivers
- Ensure regular review of excess and obsolete inventory
- Ensure accurate and timely NA financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP
- Oversee monthly close, consolidations, and financial statement preparation for global manufacturing operations
- Lead annual business plan, strategic planning, and rolling forecasts across plants and regions
- Provide leadership with clear insights on variances, trends, and performance drivers
- Build advanced reporting and dashboards to improve real-time visibility
- Lead, mentor, and develop NA Plant Controllers and regional finance teams
- Drive standardization of financial processes and global reporting practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA and/or CPA preferred)
- 12+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in manufacturing
- Strong cost / plant accounting expertise (standard costing, BOM, labor, variances)
- Proven leadership experience managing plant or regional finance teams
- SAP required;
Oracle HFM or similar consolidation tools a plus - Hands‑on leader willing to book and review entries
- Strong communication, executive presence, and business partnering skills
