Farnsworth Group is seeking a SUE / Utilities Engineer in Lisle, IL. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects focused on Subsurface Utility Engineering, including utility mapping, field designation, and development of utility reports. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the energy and utility industry.

What You’ll Do- Provide technical support as part of an engineering team on projects reporting directly to Farnsworth’s project manager.
- Field support – provide utility designation services by identifying, locating, and mapping underground utilities in the field to create a 2D map.
- Project execution – provide technical and design support for the development of utility drawings.
- Project coordination with various project team stakeholders including client representatives, internal departments (e.g., survey, CAD), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other Energy and Utility team members.
- Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
- BS in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering degree), preferably from an ABET accredited institution.
- 0-3 years of experience in the utility industry.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel and a valid driver’s license.

$69,000 – $88,000 per year (salary determined by education, experience, skills, and internal/external equity).
