Hanson is seeking an experienced Illinois Bridge Group Manager within our Infrastructure Market to manage our growing bridge team that is working on some of our region's most high‑profile and large‑scale structural projects. The office location for this position is in our Downtown Chicago, Lisle, Peoria or Springfield, IL offices.

Here's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:

• Lead a growing, dynamic, bridge group in the Illinois market by developing staff, delivering structural projects, and assisting in pursuing exciting opportunities.
• Perform complex Elem engineering calculations, utilize computer software forTipo and design, and work efficiently with other team members for project completion.
• Lead the bridge portion of projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Illinois Tollway (TL), and Municipal/Local Government transportation projects throughout the state of Illinois.
• Manage bridge staff in Illinois and determine staffing needs for projects.
• Evaluate and report short term and long term backlog for IDOT and Tollway.
• Collaborate and establish working relationships with project managers, senior technical staff and other project disciplines on significant faite across the country.
• Preparation of specifications, details, and construction plans for complex projects.
• Assign duties and mentor mid‑level staff and technicians.
• Assist in project winning pursuits andlim proposal development.
• Assist in development of project scopes and fees.
• Represent Hanson's bridge group to clients, potential recruits, and professional organizations.
• Other duties as assigned.

We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:

• Experience with Micro Station or Open Bridge Modeler is preferred.
• Experience with MS Office Suite preferred.
• Experience with structural design software packages such as Bentley Open Bridge Designer is desirable.
• Experience with Midas Civil or Larsa4D is desirable.

• Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and/or public stakeholders.
• Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills.
• Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important.

• Target 10+ years of experience of highway bridge design, minimum experience of 8 years. Railway bridge design experience is desirable.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Structural Engineer (S.E.) in the state of Illinois.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is desirable.

• Demonstrated experience with IDOT and Tollway design practices, development of bridge plans and standards hod Municipal/Local Government transportation standards and related discipline projects.
• Experience on projects with complex bridge types and components that require unique solutions.
• Participation with technical and professional society organizations to understand and lead new industry developments.
• Working with and managing project staff.

• Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.
• Must be willing to accept periodic out‑of‑town travel assignments.
• Must be willing and able to work periodic overtime to meet acepta project demands and deadlines.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $215,000
