As a Senior Bridge Project Engineer, you will lead complex bridge design and rehabilitation projects from concept through completion. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities- Serve as a senior technical advisor, applying advanced engineering principles and innovative methods to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Direct and manage project teams of engineers and technical staff, ensuring successful execution and delivery of complex bridge projects.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities and documentation for multiple large‑scale projects or entire organizational programs.
- Lead the development and implementation of new techniques, processes, and solutions to improve efficiency and organizational performance.
- Apply risk management principles to identify and mitigate uncertainties throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and performance objectives across all operational procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution;
Master's degree preferred. - Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois;
Structural Engineer (SE) certification is highly desirable. - Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering, including design and rehabilitation of complex structures.
- Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Micro Station, Open Roads, STAAD, MDX, and related tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Illinois DOT standards, and applicable federal regulations.
