In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization. By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers.
TRATON USA is seeking an experienced and motivated Unit Manager of Engine Solution Enablement – North America to join our R&D organization. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving validation capabilities, safeguarding modularization and ways of working, and leading a high‑performing unit that supports our engine solutions across the product and process lifecycle. You will work closely with global stakeholders while developing people, processes, and capabilities within North America.
Responsibilities- Support the design, build, and optimization of domain validation capacities and capabilities, ensuring strong flow performance across all product and process lifecycle stages at the VCT level.
- Safeguard modularization across the value flow landscape, with a focus on validation between systems, components, and parts.
- Ensure adherence to defined ways of working and principles at the unit level, managing escalations as needed.
- Support the Global Section Head in planning resources and capacity within the unit’s scope.
- Take full responsibility for personnel management within the local unit, including recruiting, hiring, sourcing, staffing, developing, and replacing personnel.
- Recruit Product Owners and Scrum Master for the Powertrain Stream‑Aligned VCTs within North America.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 6 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience.
- At least 3 years of lead experience.

- Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience.
- At least 3 years of lead experience.
OR
- PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 4 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience.
- At least 3 years of lead experience.
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H‑1B status).
