Position: Cleansing Operative With Driving Duties  Council
First Choice is currently recruiting reliable and motivated Cleansing Operatives , with driving duties to work in partnership with Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council at Household Recycling Centres. This is a practical, frontline role playing a key part in keeping the local community clean, safe, and presentable.

Unit 5, Blaris Industrial Estate, Altona Road, Lisburn, Lisburn and Castlereagh, BT27 5QB
Hours & Pay:
Full-time, 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 6 Monday to Saturday Hourly Rate: £14.13 Shift times between 8:00am 6:00pm (rota basis)

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out street cleansing duties including litter picking, sweeping, and removal of waste and debris. Collect household, commercial, bulky, and illegally dumped waste in line with set routes and schedules. Drive and operate refuse and street cleansing vehicles, completing daily vehicle checks and associated paperwork in line with CPC and licence requirements. Supervise small crews and act as the main point of contact, liaising with Supervisors as required.

Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, Council policies, and provide a high standard of customer service. Licence & Qualification Requirement

Please note:

To be considered for this role, all applicants must hold a valid Class 2 (Category

C) driving licence and a current CPC card. Applications from candidates who do not meet both of these requirements will not be considered. What We Need From You Previous experience in street cleansing, waste collection, or a similar role. Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving waste. Awareness of health and safety practices and ability to follow instructions.
