Social Worker Opportunities Northumberland County Council

Contract Type: Permanent or Fixed Term (role-dependent)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Locations: Wansbeck General Hospital, Hexham, Morpeth, Berwick & Alnwick

Northumberland County Council is committed to delivering high quality support to vulnerable adults, ensuring they can live safe, healthy, and independent lives. We are seeking enthusiastic, skilled Social Workers to join several teams across the county

• Social Worker Home Safe Hospital Discharge (Wansbeck General Hospital):
  Complete urgent needs assessments, mental capacity assessments, and work with families and partner agencies to facilitate safe discharge from hospital.

• Social Worker West Care & Support (Hexham):
  Join an integrated team supporting adults with complex physical and mental health needs. Manage own caseload with strong supervision and multiagency partnership working.

• Social Worker Prevention Team (Morpeth):
  Undertake preventative, strengths-based assessments to support adults to maintain independence. Training opportunities include AMHP and Practice Educator pathways.

• Social Worker North Locality Care & Support (Berwick or Alnwick):
  Support adults with physical disabilities and mental illness, working closely with primary care networks and local partners.

• Degree in Social Work & registration with Social Work England
• Successful completion of ASYE
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel for work

• Driving Licence: It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid UK driving licence, is a car owner and can use the car for work purposes.
• Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England; successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
• Compliance with Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
