Static Electrical bias Maintenance Engineer
Location: Trafalgar Square, Central London
SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced Static Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join our team, providing maintenance support across a single commercial site. This role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and electrical repairs within a professional and customer-focused environment. The position suits an engineer with strong electrical expertise, excellent diagnostic skills, and experience within Facilities Management (FM), Building Services, or commercial property maintenance.
KEYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out PPM on electrical systems including lighting, power, emergency lighting, and distribution boards.
- Complete reactive maintenance, electrical repairs, and breakdown response on site.
- Diagnose electrical faults efficiently and restore systems to full operation.
- Undertake minor installation works and remedial electrical tasks.
- Perform electrical testing and inspection duties (EICR where qualified).
- Maintain accurate logbooks, service records, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure safe working practices through effective risk assessments and method statements.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Manage materials and spare parts required for maintenance tasks.
- Update CAFM systems (e.g., Maximo) and ensure accurate job closure.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional standards.
- Support and oversee subcontractors working on site where required.
- Participate in an out of hours call out rota.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the engineering or management team.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance (essential).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
- C&G 2391 Test & Inspection (preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence (required for initial onboarding or occasional travel).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and maintenance procedures.
- Good communication skills and basic IT proficiency for updating maintenance records.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within commercial buildings.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
- Experience performing PPM, reactive maintenance, and minor electrical works.
- Background in FM, Building Services, or similar commercial maintenance roles.
- Basic mechanical awareness (pumps, fans, motors).
- Familiarity with BMS systems.
- Experience in corporate, high security, or critical environments (e.g., data centres or financial sites).
