Overhead Transmission Linesman

• £22.52 per hour
• Stand-by period:
  Fixed rate from £66 per day
• Overtime opportunities
• 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• 50% reimbursement for initial one-way economy flight to the UK

Working Hours:

• Summer: 10-hour shifts (26 weeks)
• Winter: 9-hour shifts (26 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of health and safety, including risk awareness and working at height
• Follow national and company regulations for overhead line work
• Perform rigging, blocking (dressing), and clipping-in on tension and suspension towers
• Complete spacering and de-spacering tasks using a spacer trolley
• Apply earthing schemes to overhead line conductors
• Safely use platforms, ladders, and pladders for tower work
• Carry out jointing and jumpering tasks
• Replace steelwork in-situ on towers
• Read and interpret tower drawings for assembly and erection
• Install down leads according to diagrams
• Work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ continuous experience in high-voltage overhead line transmission projects, including:
  • Working at heights up to 75m on steel lattice towers
  • Maintenance of HV transmission lines
  • OHL tension/stringing operations
  • Tower assembly/erection using cranes or derricks
• Experience with pullers, tensioners, erection tools, or tractor winches
• Valid UK driving licence or international permit (conversion support available)

For International Applicants:

• Pass UKVI IELTS or provide proof of English proficiency
• Clear Tuberculosis test (if applicable)
• Clean immigration history
