About This Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Clinical Research Nurse to join our friendly team. The Clinical Research Facility (CRF) nurses play a key role in the delivery of clinical research rge's Hospital, developing and creating robust systems and processes to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently and whilst ensuring the highest of standards are maintained.
Responsibilities- The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and management of a research portfolio of interventional clinical trials focusing mainly on early phase trials.
- The post holder will work collaboratively with research teams and the wider multidisciplinary team, managing their own caseload of clinical trial patients and be accountable for achieving local and national targets in relation to the service.
- Facilitating study set‑up; identifying suitable patients through the process of MDTs/screening notes; collecting data; recruiting patients, ensuring patient safety, and supporting and monitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patient’s advocate.
- The post holder must be prepared to work across different clinical specialties, within the scope of their qualifications, as service needs require.
- The post holder will be responsible for checking, preparing, and administering the Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) in accordance with the study protocol and the specified route of administration.
- This role requires close collaboration with Principal Investigators and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate data collection and excellent clinical care, with a strong commitment to participant safety and wellbeing. The post holder will advocate for patients, providing clear information and support to enable informed decision‑making regarding participation in research studies.
- The post holder will be accountable for maintaining their own clinical skills and competencies in line with professional regulatory requirements and Trust policies.
- The post holder must be a registered nurse with previous research experience, able to work autonomously and take delegated responsibility for clinical decision making from clinicians and senior research nursing staff, while working closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
- The post holder must be prepared to work across different clinical specialties within the scope of their qualifications as service needs require.
