Information Services Group / Library & University Collections (L&UC) / Library Research Support

Part Time: 15 hours per week

The prospective post holder must be:

  • Current student at the University of Edinburgh; and residing in the UK.
  • Must be a UoE student for the duration of the post and eligible to work [15hrs] p/w alongside studies.
  • If you already have an existing work contract with another department within the University of Edinburgh, use your University work email address when applying for this role, not your student UUN email address.

This post entails:

  • Learning about research data, including how they are documented and connected to research outputs, researchers, and university departments, serving as indicators of good Open Research practices.
  • Curating dataset records from multiple repositories and assisting in developing future curation workflows to support the University Open Research roadmap.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A student from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK, able to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Capacity to engage in detailed data analysis and contribute to project reports.
  • Effective communication skills, suitable for contributing to team discussions and project documentation.
  • Interest and/or experience in metadata, curation, Open Research and its implications for academia.
