Overview
We are working on behalf of a leading European contractor that specialises exclusively in the delivery of turnkey data centre projects. Headquartered in Europe and operating across multiple countries, our client provides end-to-end solutions from design through construction and commissioning, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
With several large-scale data centre projects currently under construction across Europe, the business continues to expand its delivery teams. As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major project based on-site in Lisbon, Portugal.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly technical, fast-paced environment on mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers on site.
Review and propose design changes to improve cost efficiency, constructability, programme delivery, and overall quality.
Demonstrate strong commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor mechanical construction works to ensure high standards of workmanship and materials.
Coordinate closely with the Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and other discipline leads to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to subcontractors and site teams.
Review drawings and specifications to ensure full understanding. Identify and formally communicate any errors or omissions to the design team in a timely manner.
Establish project resource requirements and effectively lead, motivate, and manage the mechanical project team.
Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all mechanical activities on site.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
Proven experience in project scheduling, programming, and sequencing.
Demonstrated experience leading MEP teams, with mechanical leadership experience being essential.
Prior experience delivering MEP scopes on data centre projects is required.
Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
