Transdev in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Facilities Janitor & General Maintenance Laborer. The Facilities Janitor & General Maintenance Laborer is responsible for performing janitorial, custodial, and general labor duties related to the cleanliness, maintenance support, and operation of buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure. This role supports routine cleaning services, environmental cleanup, general maintenance assistance, and emergency preparedness activities.
Starting pay $25.82/hour with progression to $26.60/hour over 1 year.

- Clean and maintain assigned buildings, facilities, break areas, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors and fixtures; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
- Remove trash and debris from interior and exterior areas and ensure proper disposal.
- Perform routine deep‑cleaning tasks including power washing, scrubbing, and disinfecting as needed.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly, following all required safety procedures and labeling requirements.
- Report facility issues such as leaks, damage, broken fixtures or safety hazards to supervision.
- Maintain janitorial supplies and ensure equipment is stored properly after use.
- Assist with general labor and regular maintenance tasks as needed, including support for facility upkeep, corridor operations and special projects.
- Follow all established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in janitorial, custodial, general labor or facilities support preferred.
- Experience working in outdoor environments and/or industrial settings preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to safely operate basic tools and equipment (hand tools, pressure washer, cleaning equipment, etc.).
- Ability to follow safety rules, procedures and hazard communication guidelines.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and team‑oriented.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather and humidity conditions. Regular outdoor work may include working alone and in remote locations along the corridor.
- Frequently walk for long distances and work on sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday, with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, crouch or squat to access supplies, tools or equipment stored at ground level.
- Perform physical janitorial tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, lifting, carrying, and trash removal.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing job duties; tolerate exposure to dust, dirt, cleaning chemicals, vehicle fumes and loud noise.
