Professional Engineer – Land Development

- Department: Civil/Municipal
- Location: Linthicum Heights, MD
- Compensation: $79,000 – $109,000 / year
CPH is seeking a full‑time licensed Professional Engineer to manage all facets of land development projects, from business development and client management to project management, design, construction documents, and construction administration.
Duties Include- Engineer of Record for design, permitting, and construction administration of projects.
- Preparation of accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents.
- Oversight of project design team including engineers, designers, consultants, and clients.
- Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
- Research, interpret, and implement relevant codes and client requirements.
- Develop, implement, and utilize CPH and client standards and templates.
- Prepare specifications, review shop drawings, and provide construction administration support as Engineer of Record.
- Periodic travel for business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation; prepare or review subsequent reports and exhibits.
- Oversee and assist with compiling construction plans from all disciplines and submittals to agencies having jurisdiction.
- Mentor project engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Review documents prepared by others and implement project quality control.
- B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Maryland. Additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
- 5+ years of U.S. experience in design and permitting of public or private projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Thorough understanding of the project process from concept through construction.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating and determining design solutions.
- Experience in stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection system design.
- Effective instructional, teaching, and mentoring skills in a positive and constructive manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Superior social, communication, written and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets.
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self‑motivated.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Dependent upon experience.
