Principal Systems Engineer / Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Integration and Test - R at Northrop Grumman.
Location:
Linthicum, MD. On-site position. This requisition may be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal Systems Engineer.
- Perform hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated RF sensor systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments.
- Synthesize internal and external customer needs and requirements into system tests that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for verifying system requirements.
- Participate in I&T readiness reviews, design reviews and conduct audits of I&T program facilities.
- Coordinate integrated testing activities that may include environmental, reliability and occasionally flight testing.
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of the test program.
- Analyze test results and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Use modeling and simulation tools to expedite testing of individual units before all system components are available and for troubleshooting and repair of failed units.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain/maintain an Active DoD secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
- 3 years of experience with lab test equipment (e.g., function generator, oscilloscope, multimeter, network analyzer, etc.).
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware/software integration problems.
- 3 years of experience with RF, Radar Systems, EW, EOIR.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Experience with embedded systems design and implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields; additional 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain/maintain an Active DoD secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
- 3 years of experience with lab test equipment (e.g., function generator, oscilloscope, multimeter, network analyzer, etc.).

- Experience testing software written in C, C++.
- Experience developing Python scripts to automate processes.
- Experience coding in MATLAB for capability characterization.
- Knowledge of Agile principles, tools and implementation.

The position offers a 9/80 standard work schedule (nine-hour days Monday through Thursday with every other Friday off).
Salary ranges:
Primary: $ - $;
Secondary: $ - $. Offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may be available where applicable. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director levels.
