Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Specialist with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative Software Technologies Organization to help develop, enhance and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will support the Materials Analysis Section, along with internal and customer funded research programs, with procurement of materials utilizing the non‑MRP system.
We are looking for you to join our team as a Supply Chain Planning Specialist based out of Linthicum, MD.
Summary Of RoleAs a Supply Chain Planning Specialist within the Materials Analysis Organization, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our rapidly changing business environment. You will be supporting a diverse team of technical individuals in obtaining quotes, placing orders, and tracking the life cycle of material acquisition. You will have the opportunity to identify areas for increased efficiency, present proposed solutions, and work towards their implementation.
This position will interact with engineers, program managers, suppliers, and the corporate business operations team, and more to ensure compliance with purchasing requirements.
- Provide support to the Materials Analysis team along with the IRAD and CRAD program teams with procurement of material through the non‑MRP system
- Understanding the breadth of the supply chain scope (including materials management, procurement including non‑MRP, iBuy, and PCard responsibilities)
- Track all purchases and ensure timely receipt of requisitions and purchase orders.
- Maintain financial records for long term planning purposes. Utilize previous purchasing records to track material budget and provide recommendations for future planning purposes. Identify unplanned purchases for incorporation to future plans.
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Abide by purchasing requirements for the various commodities and methods.
- Communicate with Stakeholders on status of all requisitions and purchase orders.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Candidates must be able to make sound decisions on time, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by the regulated industry.
Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience or master’s degree with 0 years of experience in a business related field; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
