Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accountant in Linthicum, MD.

Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a key part in the day‑to‑day financial operations of the organization and supports reporting, analysis, and audits.

• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger
• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules and support
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Identify and help resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
  
  Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1‑3+ years of accounting or related experience (depending on level)
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with accounting/ERP systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
