Position Overview:
The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift.
- Demonstrates mastery of the duties of a Team Member with enthusiasm and excellence.
- Lead shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to Make Fun Happen.
- Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management.
- Demonstrate total store vision and ownership of the look and feel of the store.
- Be knowledgeable about the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities involved.
- Maintain effective on-the-floor communication during the shift.
- Anticipate the needs of the team and guests and address situations before they become problematic.
- Understand multiple shift priorities and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks.
- Take ownership for the current shift and the upcoming shift.
- Ensure the team executes SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently.
- Coach and provide feedback to Team Members to bring their best Doing and Being to their role in the moment.
- Train the team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotional items.
- Perform administrative tasks with integrity and to completion, including bank deposits, inventory, store product orders and other assignments.
- Actively develop Team Members and engage in conversations about career and professional growth.

Required:
- At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience, or be properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
The position requires hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for 4 to 8 hours, or the ability to perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.

Compensation Range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour
Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations. Ranges reflect what the employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for such position.
The physical demands for this position include reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours, which may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
