To be considered for a Student position with the City of Kawartha Lakes, you must be:
Job Description- Assist with collecting and recording consumer water meters readings manually, with a hand-held device, or remotely in accordance with an assigned schedule and route
- Examine meters for signs of tampering and report inoperative, leaking, malfunctioning, or damaged meters and registers; tag property; report hazard including gas orders and exposed electrical wiring; report violations of backflow prevention
- Assist with the repair water meters and perform routine maintenance; remove meters for calibration; clean brush, dirt or vines away from meter boxes
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Enrolled in related field of study preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines
- Baseline technical writing and critical thinking skills
- Proven communication skills
- Team oriented
- Detail oriented
- Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office
- Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G2” Driver’s License or higher
