Hours Summer Full Time, 35 hours per week
Other Hours are Monday - Friday
The City of Kawartha Lakes is hiring summer students, and we're looking for innovative and passionate individuals interested in a four-month position from May to August. Our Summer Student Program introduces students to the public sector through challenging experiences, while providing meaningful opportunities to contribute to the community.
Summer employment with the City of Kawartha Lakes can be great way to earn and learn.
To be considered for a Student position with the City of Kawartha Lakes, you must be:
- Minimum of age 16
- Registered as a full time student during the preceding academic year, 2025 to 2026
- Registered as a full time student with the intent to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year, 2026 to 2027
- Traveling around the Kawartha Lakes to conduct surveys
- Talking to businesses about local issues
- Inputting and editing data in a survey database
- Connecting with Chamber of Commerce students and managers
- Calling business owners/managers and property managers
- Building connections with community members
- Customer service and people skills
- Assist with marketing and event preparation
- Leadership skills
- Data analysis skills
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Kawartha Lakes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships with the public
