Responsibilities
  • Assists with the daily operation of the water and wastewater systems and analysis of raw and treated water through chemical and physical processes.
  • Supports the City of Kawartha Lakes Summer Student Program by participating in challenging experiences and contributing to the community during a four-month period (May to August).
Qualifications
  • Minimum age 16
  • Registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year, 2025 to 2026
  • Registered as a full-time student with the intent to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year, 2026 to 2027
  • Ontario Class G2 license, minimum age 16, and ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Operator-In-Training (OIT) Certificates in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection
  • A Criminal Record Check will be required upon a conditional offer of employment
