The City of Kawartha Lakes is hiring summer students, and we're looking for innovative and passionate individuals interested in a two-month position from July to August. Our Summer Student Program introduces students to the public sector through challenging experiences, while providing meaningful opportunities to contribute to the community.
Summer employment with the City of Kawartha Lakes can be great way to earn and learn.
To be considered for a Student position with the City of Kawartha Lakes, you must be:- Minimum of age 16
- Registered as a full time student during the preceding academic year, 2025 to 2026
- Registered as a full time student with the intent to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year, 2026 to 2027
- Active supervision of program participants
- Planning and organizing programs including activities and supplies
- Foster positive relationships with and among participants
- Collaborate and work professionally with peers
- Problem solving, conflict resolution, customer service
- Adheres to and promotes program policies, rules, and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong leadership skills
- Previous experience working with children
- Previous work experience in a recreation environment (municipal programs or camps)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certificate preferred
Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search will be required.
