Fresh Realm is hiring a Document Review Specialist for the Food Safety Quality Assurance team
. This individual is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and maintaining production and quality assurance records to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. The role supports the food safety and quality assurance team in maintaining audit readiness and ensuring all records are accurate, complete, properly filed, and available for inspection or review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review production, sanitation, CCP, and quality control records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Identify gaps, errors, or missing information in documents and elevate them to relevant teams for correction.
  • Prepare documentation for internal, third‑party (e.g., BRC, SQF), and regulatory (e.g., USDA, FDA) audits.
  • Ensure records are properly signed, dated, and filed for quick retrieval.
  • Support traceability exercises, including mock recalls and WIBIT.
  • Ensure all documentation meets HACCP, FSMA, USDA CFR, and other applicable food safety regulations.
  • Ensure staff are using current documents and following approved SOPs; support training initiatives and maintain training records.
  • Cross training in key FSQA Technician responsibilities such as Receiving, and other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of work experience in food manufacturing or food safety roles is preferred. However, recent graduates with a degree in Food Science, Biology, or Microbiology are encouraged to apply.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, USDA CFR, and GMPs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • HACCP, PCQI and Seafood HACCP certification required (or willingness to obtain in first 2 weeks of onboarding).
  • Educational background in Food Science, Biology, Food Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing production and food safety records.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, USDA CFR regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to support internal audits and traceability/recall exercises.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments.
  • Supports the food safety team with investigations related to production issues.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills across production and quality teams.
