Position SummaryThe 2nd Shift Van Axial Fan Test Technician is responsible for performing mechanical, electrical, and performance testing on our Van Axial fan product line. This role ensures all units meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements—especially those supporting mission-critical naval applications. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and attentive to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain Van Axial fan testing equipment on 2nd shift.
- Conduct airflow, pressure, vibration, noise, and electrical tests following established procedures.
- Accurately document test results for quality and engineering review.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues discovered during testing.
- Maintain calibration and functionality of test equipment and instrumentation.
- Keep the testing area clean, organized, and safety-compliant.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to test processes and equipment reliability.
Required
- High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.
- Mechanical or electrical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Basic computer skills for test logging and reporting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a manufacturing/testing environment.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift on a consistent basis.
Preferred
- Experience with rotating machinery, industrial fans, HVAC equipment, or similar systems.
- Previous manufacturing, testing, or quality control experience.
- Familiarity with instrumentation such as gauges, meters, sensors, and vibration tools.
