Location & Facility TransitionThis position is currently based at our Linden, NJ facility and will be relocating to our new East Windsor, NJ facility. Candidates must be able to work in Linden during the transition period and continue employment in East Windsor once relocation is complete.
Position OverviewHansome Energy Systems is seeking detail-oriented Electric Motor Assemblers with strong mechanical skills to join our production team. This role focuses on the high-quality assembly of precision electric motors and related components used in critical defense and industrial applications. The position is hands-on, mechanically focused, and quality-driven—no testing responsibilities are required in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble electric motors, stators, rotors, and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform mechanical assembly operations such as fitting, aligning, bolting, fastening, wiring, insulation, and winding as required.
- Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify component and assembly dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect parts and assemblies for workmanship, proper fit, completeness, and conformance to quality requirements before release to the next operation.
- Identify and communicate assembly issues, material discrepancies, or fit-up problems to supervisors or engineering support.
- Maintain accurate and legible production and inspection records as required.
- Follow all safety procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality guidelines.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with 5S/lean principles.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and workflow.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related trade.
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, prints, and written work instructions.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during the shift.
- Willingness and ability to work in Linden, NJ and transition to East Windsor, NJ when the facility relocates.
- Experience working with electric motors, generators, or other rotating electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with winding, insulation, or electrical-related assembly work (a plus, but not required).
- Experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
- Prior experience in defense or high-reliability industrial manufacturing (plus, not required).
