Lead Driver​/Scheduler for Senior Retirement Community

Overview

Lead Bus Driver is responsible for transporting residents to scheduled outings, appointments, and special events while overseeing daily transportation operations. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for ride scheduling, confirmations, and communication with residents and staff. The Lead Bus Driver also provides guidance and support to additional drivers to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

• Transport residents to scheduled appointments, outings, and community events.
• Ensure all residents are safely assisted in and out of the vehicle as needed.
• Confirm all residents are returned safely to the community following trips.
• Maintain a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor with residents at all times.

• Serve as the lead driver for the transportation team, providing direction and support to two additional drivers.
• Assist with daily driver assignments and coverage coordination.
• Communicate schedule changes, delays, or issues clearly and professionally to staff and residents.

• Assist with scheduling transportation requests and organizing daily routes.
• Confirm rides with residents prior to scheduled trips.
• Work closely with Programs and Operations staff to ensure transportation needs are met efficiently and accurately.

• Monitor the condition of all transportation vehicles.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness by performing and/or scheduling regular interior and exterior cleaning.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and assist with coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed.

Salary range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour.
