Residential Architect

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Designer with a strong background in residential remodeling. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Chief Architect and capable of producing AI-enhanced renderings to support high-quality visual presentations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Candidates must have proven experience in single family residential projects, including high end remodeling and renovations.
• Candidate must be capable of producing construction drawings for full service residential design/build projects.
• 5+ years of architectural design experience for high-end exterior buildings and interior residential spaces, producing floor plans, schematic design, elevations, renderings, and photorealistic color renderings and walkthroughs, specifically with respect to roof lines, pitches, beams, additions, renovations, and/or new homes builds.
• Ability to design, draw and specify project details, including windows, doors, flooring, siding, roofing and finish goods for additions, kitchens and bathroom remodeling work.
• Ensure design output is both creative and technically sound, especially in bathroom and kitchen layouts.
• Prior experience creating artistic illustrations within a timeline that supports the fast-paced nature of the sales process. Must be comfortable handling multiple projects at once; and turning around multiple projects on a daily and weekly basis.
• Strong sense of proportion and scale in placing the subject on presentation page to highlight the strength of the proposed design.
• General knowledge of reproducing and detailing material’s texture by hand and in Photoshop. Proficient at hand-sketching and experience working with a marker is a must.
• Strong communication skills with internal staff and field personnel required.
• Ability to keep up with a fast paced environment with attention to detail.
• Maintain organized documentation and update plans according to feedback and construction requirements.
• Manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Architecture from an accredited university.
• Advanced knowledge of architectural design software, such as Chief Architect, REVIT, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office, 3DStudio
  
  Max, Sketch Up, Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Acrobat.
• Proficiency in Chief Architect is a significant advantage.
• Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate the fast-paced nature of the sales process.
• Keen eye for design and attention to detail.
• NCARB or State of Illinois license a plus.
