HTI is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a global manufacturing leader in Lincolnton, NC. This position will focus on testing, programming, and improving automated equipment and systems used in production. This position is Direct Hire, M-F 1st shift. The pay range is $100,000 - $125,000 depending on experience.

What You Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in automation or manufacturing engineering
  • Proficiency in PLC Programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rexroth, Omron)
  • Proficiency in Robot Programming (Fanuc, Staubli, Kawasaki, Denso, ABB)
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Understanding of sensors, actuators, and peripheral instrumentation
  • Experience with connectivity and data configuration for automated systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Agile tools (Scrum)
  • Experience with relocation projects or new product launches
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for programming, testing, and optimizing automated systems and robotics to ensure efficient and reliable manufacturing operations. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Program and configure PLCs and robotics to meet production needs
  • Test and improve automated mechanisms, systems, and processes for optimal performance
  • Oversee connectivity configuration between systems and databases using web-based interfaces
  • Develop and deliver training for technicians and operators on automation and robotic systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to automation, robotics, and connectivity
  • Maintain accurate documentation, wiring diagrams, and training materials
  • Implement and manage backup processes for automation software
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow all company safety standards and encourage a safety-first mindset
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
