- Define the AI/ML strategy and technology roadmap for the EMC business unit.
- Recruit, mentor and lead a high‑performing team of AI/ML engineers and researchers.
- Lead the end‑to‑end development and delivery of AI algorithms and software from proof‑of‑concept to integration into our Mobility DNA portfolio and hardware products.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in defining hardware requirements for future devices and collaborate on chipset selection and system architecture.
- Translate frontline worker challenges and workflow use cases into high‑value AI features and products.
- Represent the EMC business unit’s AI vision to executives, customers and industry partners.
- Work cross‑functionally with product management, software/hardware engineering, and the CTO’s office to align AI initiatives with broader business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred in an engineering discipline).
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills.
- Hands‑on experience developing AI/ML solutions.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, preferably with a concentration in machine learning, computer vision or natural language processing.
- Solid foundation in machine learning, deep neural networks, computer vision and practical system implementations.
- Professional experience in software development (Python/C++/Java/JavaScript).
- Experience deploying AI algorithms on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure) using microservices.
- Experience with Agile program management methodologies and tools.
- Leadership experience that demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria.
- Ability to translate informal customer requirements into problem definitions and articulate business value.
- Proven achievements in developing and managing a research vision with production‑ready algorithms.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
CAD $157,280 – $207,280 yearly.
