Job Overview

The Automotive Channel Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth and fostering strong partnerships within the automotive industry. This position identifies and cultivates new business opportunities while maintaining and strengthening relationships with regional and national distributors. The role involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of sales initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the Automotive Channel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact and liaison with assigned major accounts within the assigned channel.
  • Work with national and key regional customers in the assigned channel, maintaining an excellent understanding of the business within the assigned market segment.
  • Orchestrate field efforts on programs established at each account by working with the Director of Channel Sales to ensure program execution and desired results.
  • Create and sustain relationships with influential decision makers at each account by compiling a comprehensive understanding of each account's culture, key personnel, and direction.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key buying end user customers to support pull-through sales.
  • Execute strategies/programs that maximize sales while upholding margins with key accounts and develop both short- and long-term strategies on a frequent basis focusing on significant opportunities.
  • Maintain and update distributor displays, adding new products and additional SKUs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
    Master’s Degree a plus with 3 to 5 years of experience in sales team management or national account responsibility.
  • Multi‑year experience in sales forecasting, successful consulting, developing sales programs, and promotions is preferred.
  • Presentation skills and a professional image that exudes credibility, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong people and negotiation skills, with a sense of urgency and adeptness at negotiations.
  • Versatility and flexibility in adjusting to changing business needs and priorities, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong team focus and ability to work with others, both internal and external to the organization.

Physical Demand Requirements

Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers to touch, pick or pinch objects; reach with hands and arms; push or pull; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use foot or leg controls; talk or hear. May occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $100,000–$120,000. Actual earnings may vary based on performance, experience, and location.
