Responsibilities- Manages the company s reputation and drives positive visibility among key external audiences, including media, customers, partners, investors, influencers, industry organizations, and others
- Develops the talent within his/her team and fosters a positive culture between his/her team and other stakeholders within the business units along with other marketing groups across the business
- Cultivate strong, professional relationships with top tier media
- Drives strong thought leadership platform using external and internal data to position Zebra and its executives as premier thought leaders in our industry
- Develops external communications recommendations in support of Zebra s products, solutions, and services; works in partnership with Legal, Compliance and other functions to continually assess and drive opportunities for storytelling while mitigating risk
- Manages the corporate blog
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Sr Director of External Communications
Must be able to work hybrid (3 days in office/2 remote) from Lincolnshire, IL or Holtsville, NY
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in Journalism, Communications or related field required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of work experience including public relations with 10+ years of PR strategy experience and 8+ years leading a team
- 10% travel in US
Preferred Skills and
Competencies:
- Experience as a content strategist, business writer/editor, and relationship manager with a facility for delivering clear, fast, and powerful content in a variety of formats, and a vision for connecting key business themes and earned media channels to drive the most impact
- Experience developing and delivering recommendations at C- and VP-level with excellent communication, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Significant experience leading independent teams in PR, Global Integrated Marketing, or related disciplines across both virtual and direct formats
- Strong understanding of global changing media landscape and experience partnering with Marketing on storytelling through various channels including paid, earned, shared and owned
- Experience in building and managing media programs that deliver measurable results with outstanding strategic writing and editing skills
- Proven ability to develop strategy and oversee strategic communications and reputation management programs designed to advance corporate reputation
- Strong thought leadership development skills and the ability to drive strategic messaging and advocacy in a competitive and collaborative environment
- Ability to effectively drive cross-functional initiatives with sales, product development, marketing, and executive leadership within tight deadlines
- Experience implementing and maintaining a successful operational model and approach to systematically build a global network of third-party advocates to leverage in PR, marketing, and sales activities
- Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills with track record of building and inspiring high-performing, global teams
- Demonstrated ability to develop best practices for thought leadership content creation, distribution, maintenance, content repurposing, and implementation along with structures and platforms to support a global content and communications vision
