OverviewThe Continuous Improvement Manager advances the site’s Operational Excellence strategy within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role leads Lean Six Sigma initiatives, drives performance metrics, and supports cultural and cost transformation. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, this position requires experience leading other managers and influencing cross-functional engineering and technical teams on the production floor.
Responsibilities- Lead deployment of the site’s Operational Excellence roadmap in alignment with business strategy and organizational goals.
- Ensure all Continuous Improvement activities support strategic, financial, and operational objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing supervisors and other people managers responsible for executing CI initiatives.
- Drive Lean Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement practices across manufacturing, operations, and service functions.
- Indirectly lead and influence engineers, technicians, and production teams to implement sustainable process improvements.
- Lead business analysis of proposed CI projects and prioritize initiatives based on organizational impact.
- Implement and track CI metrics related to education, cultural enablers, and transformation cost improvements.
- Facilitate the site’s Operational Excellence / Lean Steering Team to achieve targeted financial results.
- Develop, update, and own site-level Operational Excellence processes, metrics, and supporting tools, ensuring alignment with regional and global standards.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to regional and global Continuous Improvement leadership.
- Demonstrate and reinforce core company values while developing leadership capability through coaching, development, and succession planning.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 10+ years of related experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (ASQ, BQF, or equivalent from Motorola or GE) is highly preferred.
- Project Management certification (PMI or recognized equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Recent experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment is necessary.
- Proven experience managing other people managers (e.g., manufacturing supervisors or team leads) and indirectly leading engineers and technicians in a production environment.
