The Novelis Lincolnshire team is seeking a Plant CI Leader. This position is responsible for coordinating the implementation and sustainability of Novelis Operating System (NOS), the foundation for improvement. Supporting the Plant to ensure that the standard methodologies are followed, and the business objectives are achieved. Coordinating the integration of metrics to ensure there is effective and reliable information across the plant into performance measurement data.

Leading the annual improvement planning cycle (IPC) resulting in a single agenda. Carrying out governance of capacity improvement (non-capex) projects meeting and reviews. Developing and implementing training plans to close NOS tools gaps, in collaboration with Regional and Global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in maintaining a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Develop and implement the NOS roadmap for the plant. Coordinates NOS Masterplan and deployment activities in line with Plant Steer Committee.
  • Support the Steering Committee and Centers of Excellence leaders.
  • Construct and implement system audits.
  • Coordinate improvement methodology training.
  • Coordinate the loss intelligence system for the site.
  • Lead the education of managers and leaders on their roles in NOS and continuous improvement.
  • Support business objectives and the Improvement Planning Cycle (IPC), resulting in a single agenda to focus the improvement efforts for the year.
  • Help implement/lead the vision to achieve plant goals.
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and/or lead improvement activities.
  • Lead the plant in the single operating agenda development and execution.
  • Work with Plant leadership to define and drive critical, organizational, and operational improvement recommendations, as well as new improvement projects.
  • Ensure consistent KPI to track operational performance.
  • Lead the Performance Improvement activity for the plant focused on getting results to meet business objectives.
  • Assist with target setting and cascade to the asset level.
  • Lead the development/improvement of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on overall progress, identifying roadblocks and creating actions to deficiencies
  • Able to teach, mentor and coach others.
  • Develop and deliver professional training applications as required to enable employees at all levels to engage and contribute to the continuous improvement process.
  • Able to use data to identify and address organizational performance gaps.
  • Ensure the lean manufacturing cultural process change for Operations, focused on development of the best productivity process with low cost and according to the plan.
  • Coach management teams to develop a continuous improvement culture, where NOS/CI is interwoven into the way we do business.
  • Play a key role in the local change management and the cultural transformation of the site.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or business.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience leading improvement efforts and teams (Lean, DMAIC, WCM).
  • Project management experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
  • Able to engage at all levels in the organization and influence others.
  • Analytical and strategic, data and results driven.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects while driving change with measurable results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of VSM, Lean methodologies, Kaizen, DMAIC.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Fluent in English.
