The Parts Pricing Assistant Manager plays a critical dual role, combining quantitative and analytical proficiency with strategic pricing frameworks to optimize pricing for aftermarket parts. This involves reviewing, recommending, and maintaining pricing strategies, as well as conducting in-depth market research and competitive analysis to benchmark performance within the company market segment. This role requires a strong command of data analytics to inform pricing decisions and enhance profitability.
Additionally, effective communication and influence skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful execution of projects. Within defined limits, the Parts Pricing Assistant Manager will make independent decisions regarding the planning, organizing, and scheduling of work involved, driving strategic initiatives that support the overall business objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic pricing frameworks and identify actionable opportunities for competitiveness, margin enhancement, and market growth.
- Utilize quantitative and analytical proficiency to analyze parts gross margin reports, evaluating positive and negative trends or pricing variances, and make data-driven recommendations to management.
- Maintain and optimize pricing records, leveraging analytical skills to recommend pricing for new parts based on market and competitive insights.
- Compile and analyze pricing intelligence, developing and maintaining a robust database containing competitive pricing information to support strategic decision-making.
- Review all cost drivers influencing margin such as supplier cost, freight, import fees & tariffs, applying analytical methods to identify discrepancies and make pricing recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, effectively communicating core requirements for assigned projects and influencing decision-making processes.
- Reporting and Visualization:
Create detailed reports and dashboards using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik View) to present pricing analysis and recommendations. - Prepare project organization and communication charts/spreadsheets, tracking progress and work performed with a focus on analytical reporting.
- Proactively communicate ideas for improving company progress with a positive and constructive attitude, leveraging market research and competitive analysis.
- Keep management informed about project status and issues that may impact objectives, utilizing technological proficiency to streamline reporting processes.
- Implement solutions to business objectives through configuration, documentation, or process improvements, grounded in quantitative analysis.
- Support the Parts Sales and Marketing Manager and Parts Coordinator with information gathering, pricing updates, and analytical reports that enhance strategic decision-making.
- Maintain various spreadsheets and data records by extracting, combining, updating, and creating new spreadsheets, demonstrating advanced technological proficiency.
- Document processes and update existing scripts, ensuring clarity and accessibility for team members.
- Manage special projects as assigned, utilizing project management skills to drive success.
- Support co-workers in other departments as needed, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success.
- Inform management of all noteworthy activities, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic goals.
- Maintain an organized and secure work environment. Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures.
- 2+ years of experience building dashboards & reports in Power BI preferred.
- Familiarity with big data processes (extracting, storage, processing, scripting, etc.) and associated tools/products preferred.
- Understanding of business and cost accounting to perform quantitative analysis for calculating gross margins and pricing strategies.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets using Excel, including proficiency in formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
- Project management or coordinator skills with leadership ability, capable of influencing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated by the ability to resolve conflicts, develop appropriate solutions to problems, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with vendors and co-workers.
