Overview

Fleet Mechanic / HGV Technician - Lincoln region. This is a new opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Engineer who wishes to operate in a high quality workshop. This company will aid you on your career journey. You can expect to be trained on new products and put through the required courses such as IRTEC. Your working days will be diverse and interesting, no 2 days will be the same.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) such as hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers. We are looking for a qualified and time served HGV Technician who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics. Permanent early shifts are available, and there may also be an on-call rota and some Saturday overtime.

• Carry out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet, including heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), refrigerated vehicles, tail lifts, light commercials (vans), trailers and various delivery products.
• Perform routine (and preventative) maintenance and MOT preparation.
• Conduct scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Handle gearbox and clutch repairs and maintenance.
• Complete 6 (or
  8) weekly inspections and correct running defects.
• Work on hydraulics and pneumatics, improving vehicle standards.
• Carry out electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

• Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable.
• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous.
