We are excited to offer an on-site General Building Engineer role in HMP Lincoln. The standard hours are 39 per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place), between 08:00 – 17:00. There is a requirement to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons. We help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly through our facilities management expertise.

The General Building Engineer role plays an important part in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

• Ensuring availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and managing remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
• Performing general and semi-skilled maintenance activities, including security systems like CCTV and alarms.
• Conducting monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants, and hoses.
• Completing quarterly RCD testing and inspecting Misting Units.
• Maintaining fire doors and performing flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
• Undertaking monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
• Checking and testing smoke vents as required.
• Carrying out any other duties as required.

• Experience in multiple areas of maintenance such as Fire;
  Door Maintenance, Extinguisher Maintenance and Alarm Core Points
• Emergency Lighting
• RCD
• Water Temperature Testing
• IT skills
