Job Description

Garner Hotel Lincoln is newly rebranded – a 91‑bedroom hotel. The Hotel Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, day‑to‑day staff management and guest service. You are the ambassador of the brand and your hotel, providing leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximised operations and guest satisfaction. The role reports to the Cluster General Manager.

Responsible for managing the hotel team and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent guest experience. You are required to balance profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations functions of the hotel.
  • Hold regular team meetings.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Handle complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.
  • Support the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel’s operation budget, marketing & sales plan.
  • Manage the ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Make decisions in the best interest of the hotel and management.
  • Deliver hotel budget goals and set short‑ and long‑term strategic goals for the property.
  • Develop improvement actions and carry out cost savings.
  • Apply a strong understanding of P&L statements and react with impactful strategies.
  • Monitor the hotel’s business reports on a daily basis.
  • Ensure accurate monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General.
  • Maximise room yield while liaising with the Director of Revenue and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programmes.
  • Prepare weekly financial reporting for the Group Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contract with third‑party vendors for essential equipment and services.
  • Act as the final decision maker in recruiting key staff.
  • Coordinate with HODs for the execution of all activities and functions.
  • Oversee and manage all departments, working closely with department heads daily.
  • Develop and manage the team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
  • Lead all aspects of business planning.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Act, Fire regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Complete all required health and safety/fire checks on time and be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health & Safety Act.
  • Be accountable for all relevant product delivery and stock management (mainly laundry, cleaning materials and bedroom supplies), including setting stock levels, checking, counting, storage, reconciliation and loss investigation.
  • Act on any other reasonable requests made by management.
