Leaving Care Worker (G7)

Neway International are seeking a Leaving Care Worker (G7) – Children’s Services to join our client based with Lincolnshire County Council.

Location:

Richmond Drive, North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, LN6 8QY

Hours:

37 per week (Monday–Friday)

Start Date:

26 January 2026
Rate: PAYE £27.33 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £35.77 per hour
Work Pattern: 2 days remote, 3 days office

About the Client

Lincolnshire County Council’s Children’s Services team is committed to supporting young people as they transition into adulthood. The Leaving Care Service provides tailored, relationship‑based support that promotes independence, resilience, and positive long‑term outcomes for care leavers aged 16–25.

The Role

The Leaving Care Worker will play a key role in supporting young people as they move from care into independent living. Acting as a Lead Professional, the postholder will build strong, trusting relationships and deliver personalised support plans that help young people achieve their goals across education, employment, health, accommodation, and life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of care leavers, ensuring timely assessments, planning, and interventions.
  • Develop, review, and deliver aspirational Pathway Plans covering all areas of independence.
  • Provide practical support with budgeting, bills, tenancy management, shopping, and essential life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including housing, education, health, and benefits services.
  • Offer trauma‑informed emotional support to promote resilience and wellbeing.
  • Identify, assess, and manage safeguarding risks in line with statutory duties and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and records in accordance with local authority standards.
  • Participate in duty rota arrangements to respond to urgent needs and crisis situations.
Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young people in care or leaving care services.
  • Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, care leaver entitlements, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise workload.
  • Confident IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS (Children & Adults).
