The department of Clinical Oncology provides in-patient and out-patient care to patients with oncological malignancies, with the Radiotherapy Department treating patients from a wide geographical area, covering the whole of Lincolnshire. The department sees over 120 patients per dayattending for radiotherapy treatment or planning.
We are looking to appoint a highly enthusiastic person to join our busy, friendly Radiotherapy team. The post holders will assist by working as part of the radiographic team on all the treatment units (linear accelerators) and in the pre-treatment area as required. Ensuring that the patients are prepared for their treatment and supported from the waiting room to the treatment areas along with Infection prevention requirements for the photobiomodulation (PBM) service.
The ideal candidate will be motivated to work with service users and have a caring and empathetic manner. You should work well within a team, have excellent communication skills as this is key for working with patients who may have high level needs.
Main duties of the jobClinical:
Assisting radiographers by carrying out portering and other non-radiographic tasks as directed by the Superintendent Radiographer.
Assist the Head and neck radiographer in coordinating the PBM service
To work in the brachytherapy suite as required, carrying out scrubs for theatre sessions and administrative work for that area.
To check levels of stock on a weekly basis, and ensure that levels in each clinical room are maintained
Provides cover for colleagues in their absence to maintain service levels

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification Qualifications- 4 GCSE C or equivalent with English Grade C or equivalent
- NVQ Level II Health Care or equivalent
- Previous experience in a caring environment.
- Experience in radiotherapy environment
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to deal with stressful situations.
- Ability to deal sensitively with patients.
- Ability to use own initiative
- Flexible and willing to undertake duties as a member of a team
- Conscientious in standard of work produced
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and as part of a team
- Experience of working with the cancer patient
- Adaptable to change
- Readiness to try new things
- Ability to recognise when to seek appropriate assistance from colleagues
