20 to 40 hours a week

• Assist with personal hygiene, such as clothing, grooming, and bathing.
• Help clients with transfers and mobility, including heavy lifting when needed.
• Prepare wholesome meals based on the dietary requirements of the client.
• Give patients their medications as directed and monitor for any negative side effects.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful discussions and activities.
• Use behaviour management strategies to assist clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia care when necessary.
• Perform simple housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy and secure environment.
• Keep a record of the care given and notify the relevant medical specialists of any changes in the client’s circumstances.
• Transport clients to social events or appointments when necessary.

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home care or similar environments.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of providing care, such as administering medication and first aid.
• Experience in senior care, hospice care, or working with people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
• Ability to provide compassionate care while skilfully handling challenging behaviours.
• Current UK driver’s licence is preferred.
• Physical health sufficient to perform heavy lifting and extended standing.
• A first aid or caregiving certification is beneficial. Enthusiasm for improving the lives of others is encouraged.
