Overview
We are seeking a qualified Town Planner to join our Planning team at the Lincoln office. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and communication skills and be detail conscious and accurate. You will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team, with ongoing opportunities for training and professional development.
Responsibilities- Prepare planning appraisals of land, buildings and concepts.
- Undertake research and analysis.
- Prepare pre‑application enquiries, planning applications and appeals, including planning/appeal statements.
- Contribute to the preparation/editing of Design and Access statements, sustainability statements, and other supporting documents.
- Liaise and negotiate with planning officers, employees of consultee organisations, third parties.
- Liaise and cultivate good relationships with clients and fellow professionals.
- Prepare/make presentations at meetings, including Parish Council and Planning Committee.
- Draw up, present and negotiate competitive fee proposals.
- Develop creative and original planning solutions to satisfy all parties.
- Write complex reports, interpreting data and making clear and relevant recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with planning regulations.
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Take responsibility for projects from the earliest stages through to completion.
- Maintain an awareness of market conditions and the impact of government policies.
- Keep informed about documents relating to planning policy and practice.
- Completed an MRTPI accredited course.
- Working towards becoming a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI), this is desirable not essential.
- Detailed knowledge of the UK Town Planning system.
- Technically competent in discipline.
- Local knowledge and experience.
- Ability to travel.
- 2 year+ experience in private/public sector.

Working Hours and LocationCore working hours are Monday Friday 9.00am 17.30pm.
This is a permanent full‑time position based on 37.5 hours (Monday Friday) however were fully open to discussing part‑time flexible working requirements. We also operate a hybrid working policy.
