This is a replacement post within the Division to appoint a fixed term Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Lincoln County Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to provide an Obstetric and Gynaecological service.
Main duties of the jobWomen's services has 3 specialties, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Breast Services. The service is delivered over the 4 main sites:
Pilgrim, Louth, Lincoln and Grantham, as well as smaller peripheral sites. The Departments are very busy and work in a friendly and high pressure environment. There are elective and emergency admissions on a daily basis and targets to adhere to. There is support from the Clinical Directors for new developments and new business opportunities. The services are led by the Clinical Directors.
It is essential that applicants can demonstrate possession of equivalent experience within Gynaecology, and Labour Ward practice, with appropriate qualifications.
Site Overview- Pilgrim Hospital – situated in beautiful countryside and serves the South Lincolnshire area. Provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
- Grantham and District Hospital – serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. Provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
- Lincoln Hospital – thriving university city with the opening of the new medical school. Provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
- Louth Hospital – set on the edge of the Wolds and serves the communities of Louth and the local area. Provides day case surgery, outpatients, x-ray and endoscopy services.

Person Specification Management and admin experience Essential- Experience in developing clinical guidelines, policies and care pathways.
- Evidence of management, administration and audit experience.
- Full GMC registration.
- MRCOG or equivalent.
- CCST or equivalent.
- ATSM in Advanced labour ward practice.
- ATSM in Advanced Antenatal care.
- Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCST.
- Experienced in leading MDT process.
- Must be proficient in obstetrics and Labour ward.
- Must be proficient in managing acute gynaecology and early pregnancy problems.
- Participate in risk management / Multi professional drills.
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff.
- Certification in Medical education.
- Motivation and enthusiasm to drive change and service transformation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other agencies.
- Team player with enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.
- Good organisational and management skills.
- Resident within 10 miles or 30 minutes of the hospital.
- Demonstrate evidence of service transformation.
