Essential Functions of Logistics and Compliance Specialistcan include
- Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA.
- Prepare and review shipping paperwork; including federal export filing submissions.
- Communicate with various KMM departments to determine transportation needs; provide assistance where necessary.
- Freight damage; verifying responsibility and coordinating inventory quarantine.
- Request and coordinate bookings for ocean export shipments.
- Review, validate and process payment of trailer/container detention charges.
- Communicate with ship lines, trucking companies, and airlines to ensure shipping or receiving deadlines are met.

- Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing and organizing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Operate office machines such as copiers, scanners, facsimile, telephone systems
- Detail-Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- Gather and Report Information - Compiling, tabulating or verifying information and data obtained or received for use by others.
- Multi-tasking – Able to handle multiple tasks and competing demands; sets priorities and ensures all issues are addressed while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Relevant experience in transportation, supply chain, and/or import/export operations preferred.
Required to wear company apparel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position requires occasional: standing, walking, reaching outward or above shoulder, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending, lifting of 10 lbs. or less, pushing/pulling 12 lbs. or less
This position requires frequent: sitting, handling, grasping, examining
OTHERPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Depth Perception)
Sense of Sound (within OSHA regulatory levels)
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE as necessary.
Majority of tasks will be conducted in an open office environment. May work outside or in other areas of the facility as needed
