The Sport Programs Coordinator is a vital position within Campus Recreation. This position primarily supports Intramural and Extramural Sports programs and provides secondary supervision to Sport Clubs within the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. In addition, it will provide support for Youth Summer Camps.
As the Sport Programs Coordinator you will:
Responsibilities- Assist in the direction, development, and administration of comprehensive sport and youth programs.
- Oversee compliance and serve as the secondary adviser for sport club officers, participants, coaches, and volunteers.
- Oversee administration of leagues and participants within Intramural and Extramural Sports.
- Lead, manage and provide development opportunities for 1-3 graduate assistants/interns and 150-200 student employees.
- Work collaboratively with Campus Recreation and University Risk Management to ensure safe and effective programming.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One year of professional experience developing and managing programs in a recreation setting.
- Proficiency with computer software.
- Experience training and supervising college age employees.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with sport scheduling and officials training.
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within three months of employment.
- Officiating certification in at least one sport.
- Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate effectively with colleagues preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Hold or obtain Nebraska driver’s license and UNL Large Passenger Van Training or ability to obtain upon employment.
- Master’s degree in Recreation, physical education, student personnel, sport management, elementary education, sociology, psychology or related field.
- Evidence of involvement in NIRSA Championship Series, NIRSA Committees.
- Evidence of experience with on-campus collaborations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- FA/ CPR / AED Instructor.
- Officiating certification for more than one sport.
Posted Salary
: $48,000/yr. minimum
