- Supervising and running swim lesson classes
- Leading organized, engaging, and effective swim lessons
- Working collaboratively with other swim lesson instructors and pool staff
- Creating a safe, encouraging, and welcoming environment for participants
- Comfortable working in and around the water
- Ability to lead groups and communicate clearly
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Reliable and able to follow a varying schedule
Starting at $16.50 per hour. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages. This is an unclassified (seasonal) position and not eligible for benefits.
ScheduleLessons will be scheduled either in the morning (generally 9:00 a.m.
-12:00 noon) or in the evening (6:00-9:00 p.m.). Schedule will vary by pool location. Approximately 15-20 hours per week. Monday through Saturday.
Must be at least 16 years of age or older prior to May 23, 2026.

The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln.
Our team manages 168 parks, 185.9 miles of trails, 97 playgrounds, over 83,000 street trees, nine public pools, six recreation centers, five golf (and disc golf) courses, five dog runs, a nature center, and beautiful public gardens. Our programs include recreation summer day camps, before and after school programs, clubs and classes for individuals with special needs, adult and youth team sports, nature-based classes and events, swimming lessons, wellness and fitness classes for all ages, and a variety of free events and classes for all ages.
