IT Applications Developer – State of Nebraska
Join the State of Nebraska State Department of Water, Energy, and Environment and work with a dynamic team committed to protecting the environment.
LocationLincoln, NE (245 Fallbrook Blvd – Suite 100)
Salary$29.35 per hour (equivalent to approx $61k–$65k per year)

Responsibilities- Consult with clients on application issues and use application development tools and utilities.
- Monitor application usage to ensure consistency and accuracy within design guidelines and agency standards.
- Participate in design and analysis of computer applications and develop functional, technical, and system specifications.
- Implement system specifications, provide training, develop support material, and offer basic ongoing support.
- Assist in gathering requirements for logical and physical database design and manage test data.
- Develop program code, assemble/compile code and debug code; perform alpha/unit testing and participate in system program testing.
- Prepare program documentation and maintain source code.
Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience using an IBM Power I Series (AS/400).
- Experience working in an IBM I (AS/400) environment using RPG or RPG free‑form coding.
- Utilization of complex SQL to access large complex application databases, including DB2/400.
- Experience with IBM Web Sphere.
- Experience with HTML coding.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Java EE development and deployment.
- Experience with PHP programming language.
- Experience with C# programming language.
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager Forms 6.5 (Adobe Live Cycle) system designs and forms management.
- Experience with Zend Server.
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent transportation.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. li>Submit a resume with detailed experience relevant to the position in years and months.
