Role Overview

The Senior Software Developer leads the design, development, testing, and maintenance of applications on the Guidewire Cloud platform. Technical responsibilities include using Visual Studio, Angular, .NET (C#, .NET Core), HTML5, and JavaScript to deliver scalable, secure software solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the company’s mission and core values through day‑to‑day work.
  • Regularly attend the office as this position requires onsite presence.
  • Lead end‑to‑end implementation, configuration, and customization of Guidewire Policy Center, Claim Center, Billing Center, and/or Enterprise Engage front‑end.
  • Design and develop Gosu‑based business rules, product models, workflows, and data models.
  • Perform Guidewire upgrades, patch applications, and integrations with Enterprise Engage (Portal/Edge) and Data Hub/Info Center.
  • Create or modify Guidewire integrations (REST APIs, SOAP, message‑based, batch jobs).
  • Build and maintain SQL databases.
  • Contribute to and help define software development and design standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software solutions by identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment instructions, and support materials.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements in development processes and tools.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the Guidewire Cloud platform using Java/Gosu, React, and C#/.NET.
  • Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and unit tests; adopt development tools and frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Read and understand complex business requirements.
  • Ensure development work aligns with security, compliance, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, administer, monitor, and maintain version control software such as SVN and Git.
  • Gather design information through interviews and coordinate with user departments.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment with sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Monitor adherence to department standards for software development, programming, and design.
  • Provide technical training and support to other software developers.
  • Act as a go‑to technical resource and mentor for developers.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and senior‑level experience with .NET (C#, .NET Core) and/or Java/Gosu, and SQL Server or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with Guidewire platform and Java/Gosu; strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, clean code principles, and best practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Guidewire Cloud Developer Certification (required).
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities on one's own initiative.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and problem‑solving skills.
