Operations Specialist
- Damage Prevention (Finance)

JOB DESCRIPTION Primary Purpose

Implement the Company Damage Prevention Program including performing and coordinating work group activities such as patrolling, locating, construction inspection, and excavation inspection of Company gas/liquids pipelines, appurtenances, compressor stations and other related facilities. Responsible for performing and documenting the operations and maintenance activities performed on company assets necessary to maintain reliability and compliance.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience / Specific Knowledge: Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Certifications / Licenses: Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record; maintain all job‑related qualifications; obtain additional certifications as required
  • Competencies, Skills & Abilities: Good record of safe work practices; solid math skills; ability to read project plans and drawings; strong verbal and written communication; teamwork, adherence to schedules, detail orientation; multitasking under deadlines; organization and prioritization.
  • Physical demands: lift up to 42 lb, climb ladders, walk 1/4–2 miles over rough terrain, perform manual tasks involving bending, stooping, kneeling, crawl; manual dexterity for hand‑held tools; ability to perform whole‑body motions and work in varied environments.
  • Working conditions:

    call‑outs after hours, travel may be required, carry personal phone, pass drug screening, background check, fit‑for‑duty examination, traditional Monday‑Friday schedule.
Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications
  • Knowledge of Company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with safe handling of flammable gases, liquids and high/low‑pressure systems.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Certificate as a Competent Person in Trenching and Shoring.
  • Line locating experience.
  • Knowledge of Wyoming One‑Call Law and CGA Best Practices.
  • GIS mapping skills.
  • Experience with trenchless excavation techniques.
Other Responsibilities
  • Locate and mark facilities per Program and One‑Call procedures prior to and during excavations.
  • Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys and inspections.
  • Coordinate local Damage Prevention and Public Awareness liaison activities and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with Company procedures for excavation activities near pipeline facilities.
  • Represent the Company during contact with landowners, tenants, public officials, emergency officials, and at local meetings.
  • Train and oversee company and third‑party personnel as required.
  • Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.) and complete necessary documentation.
  • Perform mapping, recordkeeping, and data entry duties.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Conduct right‑of‑way inspections for geotechnical concerns affecting Company assets.
  • Participate in safety programs, initiatives, and develop O&M procedures, site‑specific procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
  • Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping; perform all work in compliance with Company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, and pipeline appurtenances.
  • Operate, maintain, adjust, and make minor repairs on equipment such as industrial wheeled tractors, water pumps, air compressors, expanders, coolers, test equipment, vehicles, etc.
  • General upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment (pipeline right‑of‑way, gathering/storage areas, excavate/repair/coat/backfill pipelines, building construction, concrete work, paint, weed control, etc.).
  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
  • Interact professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Communicate clearly in person and by telephone; listen carefully.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and consistently high performance.
