Job Description
The analytical scientist position is a lab‑based role focused on supporting biopharmaceutical and vaccine product development and characterization. Primary responsibilities include initiating analytical testing, developing analytical methods (HPLC, LC‑MS, electrophoresis, spectrophotometric, and microplate‑based assays), and purifying and characterizing polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies. Additional duties may involve aseptic technique, cell‑based assays, ELISA, RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, automated liquid handling, SDS‑Page and Western blot analysis.
The scientist will conceive, design and execute study protocols, analyze and interpret scientific data, and maintain rigorous laboratory safety and documentation practices.
- HPLC, LC‑MS, electrophoresis, spectrophotometric, and microplate‑based assays.
- Knowledge of automated workstation equipment (Andrew+, Biomek 4000, Biomek NXp, etc.).
- Working knowledge of ELISA, cell culture, cell‑based assays, and antibody purification.
- Excellent aseptic laboratory technique for cell culture and cell‑based assays.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, organize, schedule, and perform a variety of analytical assays.
- Assist others with project assignments.
- Prepare accurate, detailed documents of experimental designs, protocols, procedures, presentations, and reports.
- Provide cross‑functional data sharing to aid in project development.
- Analyze and interpret scientific data.
- BS/BA in chemistry, biochemistry, biological sciences, veterinary science, or related discipline with 0‑2 years of demonstrated work experience.
- Preferred: MS in chemistry, biochemistry, biological sciences, veterinary science and laboratory experience in analytical development.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Thorough understanding of biochemistry and immunology, proven ability to develop analytical assays, and outstanding problem‑solving and experimental design skills.
- Demonstrated experience in cell‑based assay and ELISA development.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Position is full‑time, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lincoln, NE are encouraged to apply.
